India has seen primarily two political parties at the national level, UPA and NDA led by Indian National Congress and BJP respectively.
It is a common notion that when a customer buys a product for the first time and if he finds it good and also knows that there is nothing comparable to the product present in the market, he generally goes for it and does not experiment with newer products until some significant change happens to the product. And when it comes to the country then public avoids any experiment because any experiment can lead to immense loss of the country. But despite it BJP gained power in 2014 and that too with overwhelming majority, it shows something and that is INC must have done spolicies and actions that did not align with the public’s preferences and needs. INC needs to introspect and change itself according to the will of the people then only it can gain power otherwise looking at 2019 elections it can be said that it’s going to perish forever. Same is the case for other political parties too,I don’t believe that only a focus on Hindutva politics can bring a party to the national level government, Hindus make up a significant portion of the population, but are divided into various factions, including those represented by the Yadavs, Dalits, and Jatas. Yadavs are 20%, Dalits 16%, these two sections make up for 36% which is a vast number. Ultimately, opposition parties, including the Indian National Congress, need to improve their policies and actions in order to be competitive with the Bharatiya Janata Party and prevent the formation of a one party system in India.
